Operations and Communications Coordinator
Full-Time Position: Mourning Hope Grief Center, Lincoln, Nebraska

Mourning Hope  is looking for a dedicated and organized Operations and Communications Coordinator to join our team. This vital position will support the day-to-day operations of our nonprofit while driving internal and external communications that help expand our mission and outreach in the community.

The Operations and Communications Coordinator will play a key role in ensuring the efficiency and effectiveness of Mourning Hope’s operational functions. This individual will work closely with staff, volunteers and the community-at-large to maintain effective communication, manage events and contribute to the overall operational success of our nonprofit. From overseeing facility management to maintaining donor and program databases, this individual will be responsible for critical organizational processes that allow our programs and services to thrive.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Overseeing daily office operations, including scheduling, vendor management and general administrative duties
  • Managing building operations such as facility maintenance, supplies and equipment
  • Leading outreach and communication initiatives to engage key stakeholders, including donors, families and volunteers
  • Managing social media accounts, newsletters and other forms of digital and print communication
  • Maintaining accurate donor and program databases, ensuring data integrity and generating reports
  • Assisting with the internal operations of fundraising events and program activities
  • Coordinating logistical aspects of meetings, events and programs
  • Continuously monitoring and enhancing internal workflows and processes to improve overall organizational efficiency

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, nonprofit management, business or related field
  • Experience in office operations, facilities management and administrative tasks
  • Strong organizational and project management skills with attention to detail
  • Excellent written and verbal communication - able to engage diverse audiences
  • Strong problem-solving and multitasking abilities in a fast-paced environment
  • Familiarity with social media, email marketing and content management systems
  • Proficient in database management and office software
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively to improve processes
  • Passion for the mission of supporting bereaved children, teens and families
